Our beautiful mountain cabin is yours to enjoy! Just 2 miles form Kolob Reservoir and minutes from Zion Park boundary. (Lava Point, the West Rim and Subway trails are just minutes from the cabin.) Enjoy the paved access on the way to and from on the newly redone Kolob Terrace Road that takes you right through the most scenic parts of the park. You can beat the heat (20 degrees cooler than the canyon floor) and crowds by staying in the midst of pine and aspen trees. The drive time to the main Zions entrance is 45 minutes to an hour and 10 minutes depending on traffic and how much one enjoys the scenery along the way. On the main floor of your Cabin you will find an entry, 1/2 bath, small and large family rooms, laundry, master bedroom with a king size bed and bath, large kitchen (2 sinks, dishwasher, 2 refrigerators, a stove with an oven, lots of cabinets and counter space), garage and even an office with Wi-Fi high speed internet for those who need to have some peace and quite to get a little work done. Upstairs you will find a North bedroom (queen bed) with a 3/4 bath, South Bedroom (queen bed) and a full bath just next to it off the hall. A bunk room (5 twin bunk beds) with a 1/2 bath, plus there is a hangout area in the loft.. There is plenty of room to spread out with a deck off the family room and master bedroom overlooking an incredible canyon leading into Zion National Park. Plus a front porch to enjoy the mountain air.

There is a shared common area with access to a kitchen. Hikes in Zion National Park are right out the door. The manager's house and courtyard are private except when asking questions or to borrow from the library of 2,000 art books, literature, and poetry. A small cabin is available for work or contemplation in the oak grove. Many trails lead from the property or are within a short drive, including the Subway, Wildcat and Hop Valley trails. Other things to note Lazalu is forty minutes from Springdale and Hurricane, local towns with all the amenities. I can consult and help identify where you need to go for what you want. I suggest shopping for food before arrival. However, the best local restaurant can provide meals, if ordered in advance. Please ask about menus. There is a Whole Foods in Las Vegas and two groceries in Hurricane, our closest town. Also a State Liquor Store. Beer can be purchased in a market. You are forty minutes from the center of Zion Park, which has good restaurants, shopping, liquor, a nightlife, and hikes with other tourists. Lazalu can arrange a helicopter to fly you from Vegas to your bedroom and can provide a rental car for your stay. Otherwise the drive from Vegas to Lazalu is two and a half hours. Navigate on GPS to Virgin, and I can give directions up the mountain from there. At the altitude of 5,800 ft. Lazalu is always 15 degrees cooler than Springdale, or the valley below. Lazalu is in inside wilderness, and proper gear is essential: day pack, long pants, sunblock, hiking boots or tall sneakers, waterbottle, hat and common sense. You are always welcome to ask the manager a question or on a rainy day to borrow a book from the 2,000 book library of art, poetry, and literature. Other things to note From Las Vegas, drive or fly to Lazalu. By helicopter the aerial views are spectacular and Lazalu can provide a rental car during your stay. Lazalu is a two-hour drive from Las Vegas. Navigate on GPS to Virgin, Utah 84779, and I can give specific directions up the mountain from there. Lazalu is 11.3 miles above Virgin. The newly paved Park road not only takes you in and out of beautiful Zion Park scenery, but right to Lazalu's driveway. Easy to reach, Lazalu is always fifteen degrees cooler than the valley below.

Lazalu is unique. There would be no other guests. It's private, "far from the madding crowd." It's yours. Spectacular views of Zion Park you can walk to from your bedroom with immediate access to Zion Park trails. The manager lives on site and is there to ensure you have a fabulous stay. He can answer any questions you may ahve about what to do and the history of the vicinity. Lazalu is off the grid with its own well water and solar power. It's been an artist's retreat for the last twenty years and now welcomes guests. At a high elevation of 5,800 ft. Lazalu is always 15 degrees cooler in summer than Springdale and the valley below. Easy access to Subway hike, Lamb's Knoll, and Hop Valley. Quiet, rustic elegant setting. The Adobe Suite has a queen bed and air conditioning and its own full bathroom and shower. Plus there is an outdoor shower shared with the other guests. The Zion Guest House sleeps six. There is one queen bed in the front room and two twin trundle beds that pull out to make four single beds in the back room. The front room has an unusual oval bathtub cut from one piece of marble. There is a hand-held shower in the tub as well as an outdoor shower nearby. There is access to a kitchen and common area and free parking. There is a cabin in the oak grove for creative projects, contemplation or work. I advise bringing your own food. Or order ahead one of the menus from the best restaurant in town. They will deliver. There is also a cafe/restaurant within a mile at another retreat center. Lazalu is a forty minute drive to the nearest town. There are Wifi and phone reception but it is spotty. There is no streaming. I recommend downloading films before you arrive. There are caves with petroglyphs to explore and hikes or drives with stunning views. From a nearby drive are dinosaur tracks and more petroglyphs. Springdale is forty minutes drive where there are restaurants, shops, nightlife, good ice-cream and many more tourists. In Hurricane are all the conveniences: movies, laundry, doctors, markets, and restaurants, car fix-it places. On arrival, the manager can answer any questions or call or email ahead. We'd be glad to answer specific questions. Ancient Indian tribes summered in the valley and considered it a valley of transformation. If not a transformation, you can have a few relaxing days away from your busy life. It's a fine location for children interested in nature. Lazalu has stunning full surround views and makes an enchanted wedding location. I am happy to talk about these possibilities and more. This home is a modest 1000 sq. ft. but with everything that you need. There are two master bedrooms with on-suite bathrooms. Each bedroom has a King Bed as well as a single daybed. So two bedrooms and two bathrooms with the ability to sleep 6. Our units are cleaned thoroughly after each guest with disinfectants that are effective against coronavirus and  many other bacteria and viruses. You can rest assured knowing that this home opens directly to the great outdoors! It has a nice covered front porch to sit and sip a cool drink or just to chat. In the back yard we also have a patio with a barbecue to grill up a wonderful steak or some chicken. There is a washer and dryer there for your use along with wireless high speed internet service. We also a ROKU TV that gives you access to all your internet channels, like Netflix, Hulu etc. So bring your passwords so you can log in and keep up with your favorite shows. We also have an antenna that gives you about 18 local channels with all of the normal network channels.

Now for the specifics: There are many crystals, stones and beautiful rocks that have been placed in the building/home/lodge as well as throughout the grounds. Please enjoy their beauty without removing them from where they have been placed. It has taken years and a lot of dedication and love to assemble this collection and we would like to continue to share their beauty with all the guests to enjoy, while they are on the property, for years to come. Unfortunately, we have had guests that did not understand this and have taken some of these items in the past. Please make sure that all who accompany you onto the property are also aware of this policy. Regarding smoking: Smoking may be done outside and since this 10-acre quiet, secluded estate & environmentally-conscious lodge is in and surrounded by Zion National Park & located over 1 ½ miles away from the closest neighbor we request that all cigars, cigarettes etc. are extinguished in our sand filled outside containers after use. The property is in a high fire risk wilderness area. Smoking is not permitted inside and is only permitted on outside patios and decks as long as the cigarette, cigar, pipe embers are contained and completely extinguished in the sand disposal buckets provided. No fireworks or sparklers are permitted on the property. Fires will be limited to the inside fireplace and outside Chimayo fireplace. All fires must be extinguished prior to being unattended. Guest will be responsible for any and all fire damage to the property and or surrounding areas due specifically to/directly from their negligent use of the property. MAXIMUM OCCUPANCY – The maximum number of overnight guests is limited to 12 persons. Please do not exceed these numbers unless you have prior written approval from the Property Owner. If allowed, additional fees will apply for additional guests. Any other person on the property is the sole responsibility of Guest. No events/parties/weddings etc. or large gatherings of people other than the number of overnight guests is allowed without prior written approval from the Property Owner. HOT TUB - No children under the age of 16 are permitted in hot tubs at any time without adult supervision. When using the hot tub, remember there is a certain health risk associated with a hot tub/ Jacuzzi. Use at your own risk. Please do not stand on the hot tub cover. Hot tub covers are for insulation purposes and are not designed to support a person or persons. They may break and the Guest would be charged for its replacement. Remember when not using the hot tub, please leave cover on so hot tub will stay warm. STORM POLICY– Please contact Property Owner should you have any problems with your arrival. Mountain roads can be curvy, slippery and steep. Roads are maintained; however, we highly recommend four-wheel drive vehicles and/or chains during the snow months. Property Owner does not provide a refund due to road conditions or weather. Also, please be aware that the concrete patios and walkways may be slippery after storms. PETS- Guests must receive approval in writing from Property Owner PRIOR to bringing any pets. One dog may be allowed at this property as long as they are ALWAYS in the care/supervision of a human. If pet (no aggressive animals will be allowed) is approved by Property Owner, Guest will be charged a pet fee of $100 per pet. Guest assumes all responsibility of their pet. If any damage or excessive cleaning occurs, the Property Owner reserves the right to charge the Guest’s credit card for the damage and/or 100.00 for excessive cleaning if necessary. The Property Owner will notify the Guest by email and charge the credit card for the additional cleaning, after the cleaners have verified any damage and/or excessive cleaning issues. DRONES – Due to being located in and surrounded by Zion National Park, guests are not permitted to fly drones on or near the property without prior written permission by the Property Owner. WATER & SEPTIC The property is on a well and septic systems. Although there is plenty of water Guests are asked to conserve as best as possible. The septic system is very effective; however please DO NOT FLUSH anything other than toilet paper. No feminine or baby wipe products should be flushed at anytime.

If you have questions, please ask. -The beds in rooms #2 and #3 are bunk style beds. The bottom bed in room #2 is a double and has a regular (non bunk bed) mattress. The bottom bunk in room #3 also has a regular mattress. So, all ground-level beds have regular, nice mattresses and will sleep 3-5 people depending on whether you double up in the queen and/or double bed. -Both top bunks have a weight limit of 150 pounds and have standard bunk bed mattresses. We cannot put thicker mattresses on the top bunks because of design and safety factors. Due to the climbing involved & basic mattresses, these two beds will not be ideal for most adults. If the person exceeds 150 pounds, neither of these beds will work at all. Please take this into consideration when thinking about sleeping arrangements for your group. -The 2nd room in this house is quite small. The 3rd room is very small. There isn't much more space than what the pictures show. They are basically just spaces for sleeping and can't be used for much more than that. OTHER IMPORTANT INFORMATION -The property has four outdoor security cameras. One is on the roof of the house and faces west for a view of the driveway approach. The other is on the east side of the gazebo and faces east for a view of the eastern approach to the house. Both entrances may have Ring Doorbell cameras. -Zion's Roost is about 1/2 mile down a county-maintained gravel road. -Guests are welcome to smoke outside, just not inside the house or near open windows or doors. -For television viewing we have 38 over-the-air digital T.V. channels plus the televisions are connected to the internet. I have active Nexflix & Amazon Prime accounts. -The nearest stores are in Cedar City, about 20 minutes away. So be sure to stock up on supplies on your way here. We will start you out with some soap, shampoo and toilet paper. But if you've got a big group or are renting for several days, you'll probably need to bring some more of your own. -There are two homes on the 5 acre property. Only one is for rent. There is sufficient space between the two homes for plenty of privacy. I live in the main house on this property with my wife and 5 children.

This beautiful home is truly a treasure. With breathtaking views of Kolob Canyon, it sits in the middle of an immaculately groomed 20-acre wooded ranch with a stable, chicken coop, and pastures. The ranch is very private and quiet, with incredible night skies. There is plenty of parking on the property for your group. The home is recently remodeled and immaculately furnished, and will easily sleep 14 people on amazingly comfortable beds. The main floor includes a king master suite with bath, and a queen bedroom and bath, a living room with a high-send memory foam queen sofa bed, kitchen and laundry, and a deck with a barbeque and dining table looking towards the Kolobs. The lower, walkout level includes a bedroom with two queen beds, a bath, a bedroom with bunk beds, a family room with and another super comfortable pull-out sofa, and a large screen TV, a kitchenette with dining table, and a patio with table and setting.

These two comfortable caravan rentals sit side-by-side close to the east boundary line of Zion National Park, Utah. Between the two camps, they can accommodate up to six guests. The first caravan has a bed that sleeps two. In the second caravan, guests will find a bed for two on top, with an additional pull-out bed on the bottom. There is an outdoor picnic table to enjoy your meals while taking in the mountain scenery. Outside, a walk-in propane shower is available, as well as a pit latrine. Linens and towels are provided. A shared common area has a wood-fire stove, as well as a small kitchen area with dishes, pots, pans, plates, cups, utensils, propane, firewood, and a cooler. The caravans are settled on a gorgeous, sprawling meadow with views of Southern Utah's cliffs in the distance. There is a fire pit that glampers are welcome to use, as well as a horseshoe pit, cornhole game, and multiple hammocks hanging through the property. PROPERTY RULES: The beautiful thing about being in the backcountry, on private property, away from other guests is that there are no quiet hours; howl at the full moon if you would like! We do ask that you treat the space as if it were your grandma's house, respect the flora and fauna in the area, and do not smoke inside or around any vegetation. We are a 45-minute drive from the East entrance of Zion and placed upon a primitive, backcountry setting, overlooking the beautiful valley where the trailhead is located. There are enough beds to comfortably sleep up to 12. We provide nearly everything you need for your off-the-grid retreat (guests are responsible for food & beverages.) Guests have access to the entire property, where there is no quiet hours, no neighbors, and a billion stars to look at because there is very little to no light pollution. Situated at 7200 feet elevation the mountain air is clear and rejuvenating, the sunsets are breathtaking and wildlife viewing is abundant. Perfect balance of an escape into nature, yet only 2 miles/ 15 minutes on a dirt road from Cedar City. During snow time, a 4 wheel drive vehicle is required and observation of the 15 mile per hour speed limit for the last few miles is required year round. Located near the national parks of Zion (20 minute drive to the Kolob part and just over an hour to Springdale main park), Bryce Canyon (90 minute drive), Cedar Breaks, (30 minute drive) and close to other recreation areas including Brian Head ski resort, Duck creek, 3 Peaks Recreation Area, Kanarraville. For relaxing there are full service spa's in Cedar, as well as schools offering discounted massages, facials, scalp treatments, manicure, etc. For entertainment there are endless trails for biking, hiking and cross county/downhill skiing, snow shoeing, as well as rock climbing, the lake at the hill for swimming fishing, and the aquatic center, discovery park. At 6,500 feet, we have cooler temperatures in the summer months, and some snow in winter. With so much to see and do, you’ll quickly realize that you’ll need at least a week to begin to experience the splendor of this region. Guest Access We have a large home on two levels, when you rent the Harmony Belle, you are renting the ground floor with a kitchenette (refrigerator, convection microwave, toaster oven, coffee pot, hot plate, dishes, etc.), living room with a big screen TV, exercise room, 2 bedrooms, and two baths. Handicapped guests have found it easy to maneuver here, and one of the baths includes a walk-in shower. The entrance shares some common space, including the staircase to the upper level and the garage door. There is a kitchenette in this area for your use and we happily share the rest of the home with guests if you would like, including use of deck overlooking Kolob, a barbeque, and the gourmet kitchen upstairs. Guest be aware that the owners, their guests, or manager may also be using this space as well. We have extensive knowledge of the area and are happy to help you plan your activities. Other things to note Our most important request is that our guests be mindful that we live in a private neighborhood. The speed limit is 25 mph, and slower is better. Deer and people walking dogs and horses are often around the corner! Smoking is okay outside on the decks. We are off the beaten path, about five minutes off I-15, in the foothills of the Pine Valley Mountains. You can hike right from the house into the Pine Valley Wilderness area! The closest restaurants or grocery stores are 13 miles in Cedar City, so plan ahead and have dinner or buy groceries in Cedar City or St. George before arriving. Once you've booked, we will send you a list of our favorite restaurants and lesser-known hikes and places to visit, as well as detailed directions. Please note we are an hour later than Vegas. You are welcome to arrive late in the evening as your travel plans dictate but it is best, if at all possible, to arrive in the daylight, it is much easier to find us as there are no street lights, and not too many street signs.

Guests have a separate access through a side gate. Cleanliness: We deep clean the Casita between each stay. Including freshly laundered bedding and towels. The Casita is pet friendly! Fantastic views to the SW on a treed ridge 6 miles from downtown Cedar City. All neighborhood lots are multi-acre, upper-end properties. Quiet streets, wifi, two televisions, BBQ, garage bay. Dogs that are house trained, friendly, and won't bother neighbors are welcome. You need to get approval if more than 1 dog! Home is on two levels: 2 bedrooms and 2 baths upstairs, and 1 bedroom and bath downstairs. The bed in the master bedroom is king size, and the other two beds are full size. There is also a queen size sofabed downstairs. All rooms get plenty of natural light. An ideal choice for 4 to 6 people. NOTE: There is no cable or satellite TV. However, there are a number of stations received through the antenna, and there is Roku. If you want comfortable living with great, constant views close to town, but not in town, or if you enjoy leisurely walks along roads with plenty of pinyon and juniper trees, this place is for you!

This townhouse is a great place to launch your outdoor adventure to Cedar Breaks, Brianhead, Zion National Park, Bryce Canyon National Park, Grand Canyon North Rim. If you are in Cedar City visiting Southern Utah University, you have a wonderful second home to use for your visit to the Shakespeare Festival or just to go to SUU graduation or get your new students into classes. You are 1/2 a mile from Smith's grocery store and several restaurants. If you go about 2 miles to the south, there is a Wal-Mart, Wal-Greens, Home-Depot, banks, movie theater and some really nice restaurants. We have enjoyed this second home and want it to be your second home in Cedar City.
